Branding Online- Part II

This is the second part of our two part blog post on online branding. For part one, click here.

Ensure that once you have created your online profiles, you start the conversation and make your presence known to your audience! One example of a brand that is harnessing social media to promote their brand is Red Bull Energy Drink’s Facebook page, which emphasizes the energetic, exciting, and focused emotions that they want their audience to associate with the brand. This is done through posting high energy photographs and videos of athletes demonstrating great feats.

Hopefully if you are at this point of the blog on branding yourself online, you have some kind of an idea why your brand should be online, and the benefits that having an online presence will bring to your business. If you establish your brand online, you will be able to reach individuals from across the world, address a large group of people at one time, become a trusted resource or thought leader, learn more about your audience, and direct these people to your products/services.

Make sure that you are keeping an eye and ear out for individuals who are looking for what you have to offer. Don’t be afraid to keep an eye on what is “trending” online as well – what stories people seem to be talking about most. See if you can relate your own work to these stories, or join the conversation.

One of the ways that you can address a large online audience in a short amount of time is through videos. At Nettel, we specialize in video marketing. Feel free to take a look at some examples of our work and contact us if you are interested in getting a jump start on expanding your audience. Remember: Engagement is the most important aspect of branding yourself online. Ensure that the content that you are releasing is able to facilitate or encourage comments and conversation and you will be well on your way to expanding your audience and establishing yourself online.
