Having a video marketing strategy in place is something that we at Nettel Media believe is extremely important. It is important that businesses reach, connect and expand their audiences through video, although there is no single recipe to success, especially within different industries.


It is important to recognize that for each industry, there are specific qualities or facets that one would want to promote over others. For example, an individual who is in the real estate business would want to have a video that features themselves speaking to the camera about their business, in order to come across in a personal and professional manner. On the other hand, when creating a marketing video for an automotive company, the focus should be on showcasing the actual product that is being sold, highlighting special features and promotional events. Honda took a unique approach to this in 2008 with their commercial entitled “The Cog”, whereby each part of the Honda Accord interacts with each other to show how it “works”.


Another strategy is to create a video which highlights an event that you have been a part of – whether through sponsorship, showcasing or  one your company hosted. It is a great way to show the world what you are capable of. The video can be sent to many people and inspire them to come to your next event. For example, retail company Lululemon filmed their yoga rave that was held in Vancouver in 2011, and has since received over 100,000 views and many fans of the brand asking for Lululemon to host similar events in other cities.


Creating a video that positively represents your brand and makes it stand out  is a paramount objective.
